Welcome to the Delivery of Improved
Services for Health (DISH) Project! The DISH Project worked to make good quality
reproductive, maternal and child health services more widely available
and to improve the public health attitudes, knowledge and practices
in 12 districts of Uganda. In September 2002 the DISH project closed.
 |
Specifically, the project assisted districts:
- to train, equip and supervise service providers;
- to improve the standard of care at health facilities and to
establish support systems for achieving and maintaining quality
services;
- to promote services and health practices through print, mass
media materials and community outreach activities; and
- to monitor and evaluate the impact of project interventions
through surveys and service statistics.
|
The DISH Project provided
technical assistance to the districts, health subdistricts, Ministry
of Health and non-governmental organizations through a network of
professionals working from 5 offices in Uganda with backup from
the home offices of JHU, INTRAH, MSH and JHPIEGO.
