UPLAND
-
Do you have a limit on your Upland bird hunts?
No. Wild Wing operates under a commercial shooting preserve license. This means you do not have to abide by statewide limits of Kentucky while hunting on Wild Wing property. Wild Wing offers a no-limit format, which permits the hunter to harvest as many birds as possible during a hunt.
-
How many shells should I bring with me to Wild Wing?
With our no-limit format and the ability to get into 25 to 30 coveys of birds per day, it is very possible to shoot 4 to 6 boxes of shells per day.
-
What are your hunting fields like?
Our fields are gently rolling to flat and are planted in warm season grasses and milo.
-
Is bobwhite quail the only bird you offer to hunt?
No, although bobwhite quail are native to Kentucky and our mainstay, we offer pheasant and chukar upon request.

Can I bring my own dogs?
Yes. Kennel space will be provided at no additional charge.

KENNEL
-
How old should my dog be before I send it to you for training?
We recommend that your puppy be between the ages of 6 to 12 months for enrollment into our Puppy Program and 12 months or older before entering our Adult Program.
-
How long will it take to train my dog?
The advancement a dog makes during its training depends upon many things such as, but not limited to the age, their level of maturity, intelligence and prior socialization. With all of these factors playing a role in training it becomes very difficult to set a time table on training. Most things can be accomplished within 120 days of training for the adult dog. We recommend that all puppies go through our 90 day Puppy Program.
-
How often will you work with my dog?
All dogs are worked Monday thru Saturday. No dogs will be worked on Sunday.
-
How many dogs do you take in for training at a time?
To insure proper and quality training time for all dogs we limit ourselves to 25 dogs at a time. With 3 full time trainers on staff all dogs receive quality training.
-
Can I come and visit with my dog and the trainer?
Yes and we encourage you to not only visit with the trainer but to stay in contact with the trainer on a regular basis.
-
What things are required of me before I bring my dog to you for training?
All dogs that come to Wild Wing for training are required to have a Health Certificate and all vaccinations. Vaccinations must be completed 30 days prior to arrival.

How long have you been in operation?
Wild Wing has been in operation since 2001. Our habitat work began in 1995.
-
How many other hunters will be at the Lodge?
To ensure a hunt of the highest quality and not pressure the animals, Wild Wing limits the number of hunters to 4 at a time.
-

All of our stands are placed 18 to 22 feet high.
-
What type of stands do you use?
All of our stands are Oldman stands and we have a minimum of 4 stands per hunter.
